Announcements and Important Events
The Teal Power Shoot Out program leverages high school and college basketball programs as a platform to raise awareness for ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer affects women of all ages, starting as young as seventeen years old. The best cure for this evil disease is to stop it before it happens. On February 3rd, the CHCA Women's Basketball program is playing to drive awareness for this cause and raise funds for ovarian cancer research.
This is the third year for CHCA to participate in TPSO and in the last 2 years, we raised the highest among all the schools and got coverage on multiple TV stations. This year, we are setting a goal of $4,000. We are planning to do this via bake sale, selling T-shirts, accepting donations. There is also a Facebook fundraiser set up with a goal to raise of $2000 which will go towards this goal, setup by junior player, Alisha Chalasani, and she is half way through her goal in the first week.
What can you do?
Buy T-shirts - they are $10 presale and are on sale through the holiday break. ($15 @ the door)
Buy Baked Goods - there will be a bake sale at the event.
Bring lots of fans to the event - we want a packed house to support this great cause!
