Good News from Coach Schulz

Hello Junior High Parents!

This message is for any family with a young man that is interested in being a future CHCA Baseball Eagle. We have some exciting news for the Junior High Baseball program for 2018. In the past, it was not possible for a player to play for the school team while simultaneously practicing or playing with their select/summer club team. However, through some work within our Athletic Department, that is now possible! Even while participating with your club team, your son will have the opportunity to wear the CHCA Baseball uniform and play for the Eagles as a 7th or 8th grader. Obviously, I am very excited about this development, as I hope you are too. This gives us an opportunity to really get ALL of our future players involved in and ingrained to the way we play this great game of baseball at CHCA High School, all the while not asking them to choose between their school and their club team. It’s really a win-win!

We will be having a parent meeting to lay out all of the details on Tues. 02/13/18, 6:00 p.m. at the FC (middle school) gym. I do understand that this date is after the junior high registration deadline of 02/06/18. So my recommendation (if you have even the slightest interest) is to go ahead and register at http://chcaathletics.org/main/otherad/contentID/42116810 by the 02/06/18 deadline, and then if after our meeting you don’t think it will work out, we can cancel your registration with no charges (or pressure) applied.

Additionally, I wanted to invite you to sign your son up for our first annual CHCA Winter Youth Baseball Clinic coming up on 02/18/18. Act now, as there are only 30 spots available for grades 6-8! The attached flyer contains everything you need to know about the clinic. The link to sign up is http://tinyurl.com/CHCABaseballClinic. Participation with our junior high team is not required to attend this clinic, and is also not limited to CHCA students, so tell your friends! Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you soon!
